HB 474 – allowing in-state tuition for students in the process of becoming legal residents

AN ACT relative to eligibility for in-state tuition rates at the university system of New Hampshire.

COMMITTEE: Education

ANALYSIS: This bill provides for in-state status within the university system of New Hampshire for students who are without lawful immigration status and who file an affidavit stating that the student has filed or will file an application to legalize his or her immigration status.

ANHPE Comment: This is a reaction to the passage of HB  1383 last year.
